We run Dacorum Athletics Track - an 8-lane 400m floodlit track with clubroom, shower and toilet facilities. At the track you can get involved in all kinds of track and field events from 100m and 110m hurdles to events such as long jump and javelin. Inspired by the British success in the badminton? Why not come and improve your badminton skills with a coached course at Sportspace Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted or Tring? Or, if you just want to hire a court and play with friends, choose from one of our 24 badminton courts available for hire across our sites. More information can be found here.
For children, we run basketball courses at both Sportspace Kings Langley and Sportspace Berkhamsted of which more details can be found here. Adults can practice their jump shots and free throws by hiring their own courts at one of our Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted or Longdean centres, or, for the more serious basketball players, contact Hemel Storm Basketball to find out how to get involved with their club.
Whilst it may not quite be the Copacabana beach in Rio, you can get involved in beach volleyball locally by contacting Herts Beach Volleyball club in St Albans.
There’s only one place to go for some real BMX action in Dacorum – XC. Their Skate and BMX park features the only covered concrete pool and bowl complex in the UK and 1:1 lessons are available for those that want to learn how to master the ramps on two wheels. Check out their website for more.

Learn how to fence under the guidance of a trained coach with our adult or 16-25 fencing sessions at Sportspace Hemel Hempstead. We also offer courses for juniors aged 6 and above that want to get involved in the sport. All sessions are supported by British fencing.

Rugby – League
During the school holidays, Sportspace Berkhamsted run an ‘Intro to Target Shooting’ session aimed at children aged 8-13 years-old. This is an introductory shooting session which uses specialised laser equipment. We run these sessions in partnership with the Dacorum Modern Penthalon Club (http://modernpentathlon.org.uk/).
It's pretty hard not to be inspired by the heroics of the Team GB swim team in Rio, and if like many others, their performances have got you wanting to take to the water, then you need to take a look at the huge range of swimming activities we offer here at Sportspace. From toddlers to older adults, we have sessions and lessons to suit all ages and abilities - click here to find the right one for you.
Sportspace run Synchronised Swimming lessons as part of their Swim School programme. Children must be competent and confident swimmers who hold their ASA Stage 7 award. They will work towards ASA Stage 8-10 Synchronised Swimming awards. During the school holidays there is also a Synchronised Swimming Workshop which is a good taster session into this sport.

Sportspace Hemel Hempstead run a Waterpolo Workshop in the school holidays which is aimed at children aged 10-16 years of age who have completed their ASA Stage 4 award (or above) and are confident in deep water. This is a great taster session into this sport.
