Everyday Champion July - Sue Sizer
Congratulations to July’s Everyday Champion, Sue Sizer, who has been nominated for the award following her outstanding weight loss journey with us here at Sportspace.
Getting started in the gym
Sue was a complete gym novice when she first started with us back in November 2015 and soon after joining, she decided to take the plunge and start using a Personal Trainer. She began training with Sportspace PT Dan Behr, who after getting to know Sue’s goals, created her a personalised exercise plan to work to. Though very basic, the initial plan gave Sue a framework to work from and helped introduce her to the basic principles of fitness and exercise. As the weeks progressed, so did the difficulty of her plan and Sue began to attend the gym consistently between 3-4 times a week.
The regime mainly consisted of circuit-style weight training and though cardio exercise was added in sporadically, it was not the main focus of her workout. On top of the weight training, Sue also adopted a new diet plan, set by her trainer with the purpose of fast-tracking her progress and helping her shift to a healthier lifestyle. She removed foods that were not going to help with her training and started to follow a more natural diet – rich in protein and free from processed foods. Using the Inbody machine, Sue tracked the effects of her weight training and diet plan every 6 weeks, using the handy reports to compare the results and identify areas for improvement.
A worthy Everyday Champion
Fast forward 8 months and not only have Sue’s general fitness and strength vastly improved, but she’s also managed to lose an impressive total of 30.2lbs body fat – a result she is particularly delighted with!
